2(JOS SMOLDERS)

2(Jos Smolders) is a very special release. A 5" lathe cut picture disc without picture, dedicated to my very good friend Jos Smolders (obviously). The tracks are made from samples of his (in)famous CD on Staalplaat 'Music for CD player'.
The subtitle of the CD is: With the listener as conductor. This DIY mentality is one of Jos' strongest beliefs and has helped me for one, to dig into unknown realms of music by listening to it and subsequently doing it myself.
The MP3's are of the highest quality and were digitally remastered for this purpose.

GOEM

GOEM's Cling Film installation was done in four freight train carriages, placed in a square. each had a very powerful PA set installed inside. GOEM's piece shook the carriages so heavily, that all the metal started resonating, which was an excellent addition to the piece. The installation setup was concieved by Kevin van Volcem and Laura Maes from the Belgian label Cling Film. Sadly enough they have stopped running the label and went on to do other things.

This piece is a mixdown of a four channel installation done at the Melkfabriek in Den Bosch (NL) in 2001 during the Eartional Festival. All four members reworked the same original soundtrack. These four tracks were then played back simultaneously, sometimes almost identical to and sometimes completely different from each other. Thanks to Anton Viergever.
